Gathering In The Gratitude

In difficult times, gratitude for the small everyday things is so important. It helps to keep us uplifted, which in turn uplifts others. It also becomes a reminder that in many places on this planet good things are occurring.

Recently I noticed how I fell into a conversation with another where our focus was on all that was negatively occurring here in New Zealand. It really disturbed my whole demeanor afterward, making me feel tired and infiltrating my thinking and feelings, which, in turn, created an unpleasant situation. How quickly it unfolded—time to turn it back into its positive or neutral, peaceful state. A quick glance at things to be grateful for also does wonders at being able to switch the tides on our powerful and beautiful minds.

So may we all have an extended Thanksgiving - letting that state of mind more space to be - more space to bless us and our world

Thank you for the shelter and earth that holds me

Thank you for the rising sun that nourishes me

Thank you for the oceans and rivers cleansing and reviving me

Thank you for the air that sustains me

Thank you for the life of the birds

and their song falling into my ears

Thank you for the flowers and trees

and all growing things around me

Thank you for the smiling faces and laughter of human beings

Thank you for the friendship following me through the years

Thank you for the family embedded in my soul

Thank you for the blessed ones on this earth that help me grow

Thank you for this body and all it conveys

Thank you for my mind and the beauty and severity of its power

Thank you for my heart that feels into the depths

Thank you for my spirit, which loves every person, experience, and world event with a knowing calm.

Thank you for the gift of peace.

May this peace spread into every heart

May Love sustain us all.

I wish you all a blessed Thanksgiving!
